The workshop will guide further developments in the OceanBestPractices System (OBPS) and formulate recommendations to the OceanObs’19 conference. To achieve this, the workshop outcomes we are focused on are: (1) recommendations for best practice creation and uptake, (2) recommendations for further system development/implementation and (3) options for governance and sustainability. In this, we are addressing more than the system, with the recognition that best practices flow from our community and thus community engagement is essential to gain the benefits of interoperability and reproducibility and compliance with the FAIR principles.
The agenda is attached below. This year we have left time for more discussions. We anticipate active participation by all and have provided the points to be discussed for each agenda block. Of course, additional points are invited from you.
The meeting will take place at the UNESCO Headquarters Building annex (1 rue Miollis, 75015 Paris) in Room XV. Please note that this is the annex and not the main UNESCO building, which is some blocks away. You will need to leave time for checkin with Security so we suggest you arrive at UNESCO annex at 8:30. Forest Collins of our UNESCO host will have badges ready for you. Please bring your passports in case they are needed.
The room is relatively small for the number of attendees so we encourage you to leave your coats and bags outside the meeting room. We will make provisions for that. Also when you arrive at the room, please sign in.
