In order to deal effectively and efficiently with the specificities of Islands vs Mainland it was decided to nominate Regional Coordinators:
- ODINCARSA Regional coordinator for Latin America (data management)
Mr. Rodney Martínez was elected by national representatives as ODINCARSA Regional Coordinator in October 2002. He is Oceanographer and was Officer of the Ecuadorian Navy until 2003, and National Delegate to the IOC for several years. Since 2004 works on the International research Centre on El Niño (CIIFEN) as Scientific Coordinator.
Mr Martinez is also ODINCARSA Project Coordinator
